Alpine Shire Council is seeking the services of a suitably qualified consultant to project manage two projects in Mount Beauty and Harrietville townships.
1. Big Hill Car Park Sealing (Mount Beauty) – Construction
Big Hill car park operates as the trail head for the Big Hill Mountain Bike Park and an entry point onto the Mount Beauty Gorge Walk. It is a popular facility with toilets, bike wash stations, club sheds including an Upper Kiewa Valley Lions Club shed, and a BBQ pavilion area.
The project involves sealing approximately 1920 sqm, including renewing the concrete entranceway, drainage works, installation of bollards and raised reflective markers.
The works address the following key scope items:
· resolving the significant drainage problems
· resolving entrance angles causing vehicle damage
· improving pedestrian safety
· improving turning circles
· sealing and formalising parking bays.
2. Tronoh Dredgehole Precinct Phase 2 (Harrietville) – Design and Construction
Harrietville is a town centred around nature and offers the perfect all year round destination for nature based activities such as fishing, swimming, hiking, camping, mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding.
Harrietville’s Dredge Hole was created by the Tronoh Dredge which the largest electric powered mechanical dredge in the southern hemisphere. The Dredge Hole has since been filled with water and has now become a popular swimming hole for residents and tourists.
High quality concept designs have been developed by MDG Landscape Architects in consultation with the Harrietville community to provide significant improvements to the Harrietville streetscape and urban environment resulting in improved amenity and liability for residents.
$1,090,712 of funding has been secured for the detailed design and construction works at the Dredge Hole Precinct to include:
• A meeting plaza;
• Day shelter;
• An amenities block;
• Picnic tables and bench seating;
• Drinking fountain;
• Designated car parking;
• Landscaping;
• Lighting;
• Paving and footpath connections;
• Wayfinding signage; and
• Direction trail signage.
