The Alpine Shire requests tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the design and construction of a new bridge to replace the existing two-span reinforced concrete bridge on Old Harrietville Road over the Ovens River, Germantown.
The existing two-span bridge is to be demolished and the new bridge is to be constructed on the same alignment.
The new bridge is to be designed in accordance with the requirements of AS5100-2004 with an SM1600 design load capacity.
Tenderers are requested to submit 2 tender options for the design & construction of the replacement bridge:
1. Single 4.5m wide traffic lane;
2. Single 3.5m (minimum) traffic lane with 1.5m cycle-path lane.
Council will award a contract for only one of the options after duly considering tender responses in accordance with the terms of this Invitation to Tender.
