Alpine Shire Council is seeking the services of suitably qualified civil and structural engineers to undertake the design of a new structure across Snowy Creek on the Snowy Creek Road in Freeburgh, North East Victoria.
The existing bridge has a 25t load limit and the current alignment (and deck width) of the existing bridge presents clearance issues to longer vehicles such as earthmoving floats and standard semi-trailers notwithstanding the load limit restriction.
Subsequently, a preferred new alignment is just downstream from the existing bridge on a more favourable approach from the west with an approximate overall span of 20m. This alignment would require approximately 55m of new road approach from the west and 50m from the east to tie into the existing Snowy Creek Road each side of the new bridge.
