The Alpine Shire requests tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the installation of street lighting across the Alpine Shire.
In 2021, Ironbark Sustainability were engaged to undertake an audit of Alpine Shire’s street lighting. The audit showed that 1,333 of the 1,494 streetlights needed upgrading - with 1,251 of the lights being either mercury vapour or high pressure sodium.
Sylvania Schreder have been engaged to supply all the lighting required.
Alpine Shire Council is now in the preparatory stages of an energy-efficient bulk replacement of 1,333 of its full cost and cost shared lighting with Department of Transport (VicRoads) which includes 402 x Standard Category V, 40 x Decorative Category P and 891 x Standard Category P street lights and require an experienced installer to undertake these works.
