Alpine Shire Council (ASC) is seeking offers from a suitably qualified and experienced contractors or consultants to provide asset inspection, condition assessment and data collection services for Council’s urban and rural network of sealed and unsealed roads, carparks and kerb and channel and urban footpaths.
The information gathered though this data collection and condition assessment project is used by Council to:
• Model asset consumption and determine consumption trends
• Establish asset valuation and depreciation
• Determine future financial demands with regards to asset renewal
• Plan capital renewal requirements
ASC’s public road network comprises 342 km of sealed pavement, 235 km of unsealed pavement, 149 km of Kerb & Channel, approximately 3 km of carparks and 90 km of Urban footpaths.
Risks associated with the degradation from use of the roads and footpaths are managed by Council’s Asset Maintenance department through periodic defect inspections (proactive) or through response to customer service requests under the requirements and response times outlined in Council’s Road Management Plan. Remedial works are programmed according to the type and severity of the road defect.
