Alpine Shire Council is a relatively small regional Council with circa 105 FTE and 150 headcount. Council supports a significant capital works program, maintains various public assets, offers a range of typical local government facilities such as libraries, swimming pools, aerodromes, waste facilities and depots, and provides various services such as emergency management, local laws enforcement, planning approvals, and oversight of local events.
Council operates a wide range of ICT systems to enable the above-mentioned services. A mix of on-premise and cloud-based platforms are used to host, maintain and protect the availability of the ICT systems. The existing backup and DR systems are vulnerable to cyber security risks and may not provide optimal coverage against disaster scenarios.
Council is seeking to review and renew the DR and backup systems to mitigate the associated risks whilst meeting the functional and non-functional requirements specified here. The scope of the project is to review the existing systems against best practice, propose a renewal solution, produce detailed designs, supply of components and software, installation, migration and project management services covering the entire project cycle.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The primary objectives of this project are to reliably:
• Reduce risks in preventing and recovering from a cyber security incident.
• Reduce risks caused by system failure.
• Reduce risks caused by external factors such as in disaster scenarios.
• Provide fit-for-purpose systems within the context of a small regional council.
Please see tender documents for further details.
