The Alpine Shire Council (Council) is seeking offers from a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to provide a five year Workforce Plan. The purpose of the workforce plan to support the supply of the workforce required to deliver both Pre-Prep and the continued scale up of Three-Year-Old Kindergarten between 2024 and 2029. Funding for this project is provided under the Workforce Planning Grant administered by the Victorian Government.
The Alpine Shire is facing significant challenges related to childcare workforce provisions now and into the future. Current waitlists for childcare services, pre-prep transition in 2027 and future expected population growth, means childcare services will need to grow significantly in the immediate future to meet demand. Several factors are impacting workforce provisions in the Alpine Shire, including lack of housing, housing affordability and cost of living challenges and demographic shifts.
