Alpine Shire Council requests tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the construction of a new pedestrian bridge across the Ovens River in Harrietville.
The new bridge is to provide a link between existing tracks on either side of the river.
In general, the proposed methodology is to construct driven pile footings as detailed in the drawing set, arrive on site with prefabricated bridge modules, assemble them and crane into position.
It is important for the tenderer to familiarise themselves with the site constraints at the construction location. As the bridge is in an area surrounded by significant native vegetation it is a requirement for the contractor to provide confidence that their construction methodology is achievable from within the allowable site corridor.
