This feasibility study will be broken down into two separable portions:
• Stage 1: Aquatics Feasibility Study
• Stage 2: Indoor Stadium Feasibility Study.
Stage 1: Aquatics Feasibility Study
Alpine Shire Council is seeking the services of suitably qualified consultants to undertake the feasibility and review of three integral sport and recreation locations across Alpine Shire as follows:
1. Bright Sports Centre
2. Mount Beauty Swimming Pool
3. Myrtleford Swimming Pool.
The 2021 Alpine Shire Sport and Active Recreation Plan identified a need to either review and upgrade these facilities or identify other preferred locations for aquatic facilities within the municipality.
This feasibility study will inform future strategic decisions on enhancing the Shire’s aquatic facilities in line with Council's vision and objectives including but not limited to:
• provide high-quality facilities that best serve the community of Alpine Shire
• create accessible, affordable, and inclusive facilities and participation outcomes
• develop well-planned, well-maintained and well-managed aquatic facilities.
Stage 2: Indoor Stadium Feasibility Study
The purpose of the Indoor Stadium Feasibility Study is to evaluate the current state of indoor stadium facilities within the Alpine Shire and to:
1. identify opportunities for improvement or expansion
2. understand the demand for indoor sporting and recreational activities, assess the existing facilities' utilisation rates
3. explore the need for additional amenities.
The study will provide critical insights to guide future decision-making processes related to indoor sports infrastructure line with Council's vision and objectives including but not limited to:
• provide high-quality facilities that best serve the community of Alpine Shire
• create accessible, affordable, and inclusive facilities and participation outcomes
• develop well-planned, well-maintained, and well-managed aquatic facilities.
