The Alpine Shire requests tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the upgrade and widening of the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail between Bright and Porepunkah. The principal aim of this project is to widen the Trail from the existing 1.8-2.0m to a minimum of 2.5m and to provide a smooth asphalt surface. The works will also seek to rectify existing undulations in the trail and increase the strength of the existing pavement by reconstructing or stabilising the base course and finishing with a new asphalt wearing coarse. The secondary aim of the project is to provide a defined separation between path users and road traffic along the Service St section of the path, by constructing kerb and channel along Service St.
