Alpine Shire Council is seeking the services of a suitably qualified consultant to undertake a design of the stormwater drainage at the Porepunkah Transfer Station.
Major rehabilitation capping works have taken place at the Porepunkah Transfer Station, leading to increased runoff. As a result, the existing stormwater pipes are experiencing silt accumulation, and there is erosion in the open water channels. The intended outcome is to design a robust, cost-effective stormwater drainage system that will be easy to maintain. The siltation pond is also inadequate to accommodate the additional runoff and overflow into the neighbouring farm.
The objective is to develop a new, resilient, and cost-efficient stormwater drainage system and sedimentation pond that will comply with EPA regulations and protect the surrounding environment from any overflow from the sedimentation pond.
A second design is also required that optimises the existing stormwater drainage to produce a workable design.
Both designs must meet the EPA regulations and protects the surrounding environment.
