Construction of a new bridge - Harris Lane - Invitation to Tender CT15/052
The Alpine Shire requests tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the construction of a new bridge to replace the existing single-span timber deck and steel bridge on Harris Lane over the Buckland River, Buckland.
The new bridge is to be constructed on the same alignment as the existing bridge. The existing bridge is to be demolished and all components to be removed from site and disposed of.
The new bridge has been designed in accordance with the requirements of AS5100-2004 with a 20 tonne GVM design load capacity.
Tenderers are requested to submit a compliant tender for the construction of the replacement bridge as designed and are also invited to submit an alternative design and construct tender, which may include the complete replacement of the bridge and abutments with a concrete or steel option. Any alternative tender would need to maintain the current waterway area beneath the bridge and be generally in accordance with the dimensions and geometry of the design shown.
Council will award a contract for only one of the options after duly considering tender responses in accordance with the terms of this Invitation to Tender.
