Purpose
The purpose of this project is to update the Austroads Guide to Pavement Technology Part 4K: Selection and Design of Sprayed Seals to reflect new technology and changed work practices, and address the changing demands on the sealed network.
Scope
The project will undertake and document the outcomes from a series of workshops with industry and users aimed at identifying future research needs and any changes to the Austroads Seal Design method. A review and update to the Austroads Guide to Pavement Technology Part 4K: Selection and Design of Sprayed Seals will then be undertaken together with the development of a technical basis report. A series of six workshops across Australia and New Zealand are to be conducted to consult with users of the Guide part and develop a consolidated list of issues. Users include seal designers, specifiers and industry.
The project will review the current Guide part and the outputs from the consultation process to identify potential changes that can be implemented immediately and those that require further research work. Obtaining feedback from users of the method will allow an unfiltered view of issues that need to be addressed and give an indication of any future Austroads projects that may be required in this area.
Deliverables
This project will produce the following final deliverables:
• Updated edition of Austroads Guide to Pavement Technology Part 4K: Selection and Design of Sprayed Seals
• Technical report outlining the technical basis of the update to Guide Part 4K
• A webinar
• Project data with populated metadata spreadsheet.
Also included as part of this tender are the following documents:
• Writing & Format Requirements for Austroads Publications which sets out the writing and formatting standards for research, technical and internal reports.
• Master Services Agreement outlining our Terms and Conditions. Please note that our Terms and Conditions are not negotiable.
