Tender Details
Purpose:

Through this Request for Tender (RfT), Austroads seeks responses from appropriately experienced service providers to carry out the purpose of this project in support of the Implementation of the National Roadmap on Driver Distraction.

The purpose of this project is to develop two guidelines, drawing from existing relevant guidelines. The methodology to carry out the work includes identifying and reviewing existing guidelines and relevant literature, consulting with technology and vehicle designers, providers, and manufacturers, and consulting with experts in the field (transportation systems, road design, distraction, etc.) to prepare the following guidelines:
1. Human Factors Integration (HFI) into transport system.
2. In-Vehicle Human-Machine Interface (HMI).

Objectives:

The objective of this project is to prepare two guidelines:
1. Guideline to formally incorporate human factors integration (HFI) processes into the design of road transport system to ensure that products and systems are user-centred designed to reduce and mitigate driver distraction.
2. Guideline to formally incorporate a user-centred design of in-vehicle human-machine interface (HMI) that reduces and mitigates driver distraction.

Also included as part of this tender are the following documents:
• Writing & Format Requirements for Austroads Publications which sets out the writing and formatting standards for research, technical and internal reports.
• Master Services Agreement outlining our Terms and Conditions. Please note that our Terms and Conditions are not negotiable.
