Purpose:

The purpose of this project is to prepare a report for Austroads on:
• Current and projected levels of recyclable materials in Australia that can be used in the construction of roads and their related assets
• Proven safe and effective ways recyclable materials can be used in roads, and
• Identify areas for future research or policy changes that would lead to a greater use of recyclable materials in roads.

Austroads will use the report to:
• Develop guides, specifications and other materials on proven ways to use recyclable materials
• Commission further research on the potential use and effects of recyclable materials in roads, and
• Prepare advice to TISOC for its meeting in late March/early April 2020 which could include proposing further recommendations on policy changes to the Transport and Infrastructure Council.

Deliverables:

This project will produce the following deliverables:
• Detailed project plan
• Draft report, and
• Final report.

o Instructions for Authors of Austroads Publications which sets out the writing and formatting standards for research, technical and internal reports.
