Tender Details
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this project is to develop a harmonised framework for road transport and traffic agencies to use information gathered from inspections to manage their bridge inventory in a manner acceptable to their risk profile and budget.
This project will review the effectiveness and quality control measures of each agency’s bridge inspection frameworks and align into one overarching framework. This framework will ensure inspections are effective in terms of quality and output.
The new framework to be included as an update to the Austroads Guide to Bridge Technology Part 7: Maintenance and Management of Existing Bridges.

SCOPE:
• Review current practice, building from the findings from Improved Bridge Deterioration Models, Predictive Tools and Costs (Austroads Report AP-R487-15) in particular quality control and effectiveness in risk management. This will identify the need to review and evolve the current inspection regime and update guidance.
• Identify common ground in terminology, inspection levels, frequency, audit and pre-qualification scheme, quality of inspection program.
• Develop an aligned framework.
Individual jurisdictions to develop supplements as required.

DELIVERABLES:
This project will produce the following final deliverables:
• Updated edition of the Austroads Guide to Bridge Technology Part 7: Maintenance and Management of Existing Bridges (AGBT07).
• Webinar.

Also included as part of this tender are the following documents:
• Instructions for Authors of Austroads Publications which sets out the writing and formatting standards for research, technical and internal reports.
