PURPOSE:
The purpose of this project is to support the achievement of consistent Automated Vehicle (AV) trial evaluation and reporting, knowledge sharing and results comparison.
SCOPE:
The scope of this project is to:
• Create guidance material and / or tool(s) to establish and support a consistent approach to evaluating and reporting on AV trials
• Cover both trials that have already been commenced (including those recently completed) as well as those that are yet to commence
• Establish the necessary stakeholder support for the guidance and / or tool(s) from implementing jurisdictions and trial industry partners
• Address in the guidance and / or tool(s) the range of trial project types across Australia and New Zealand, including both projects with significant government funding and commercial development and early deployment activities
• Address in the guidance and / or tool(s) where appropriate, each of:
o Establishment of trial objectives and / or research questions to be addressed
o Evaluation of realised or realisable benefits
o Lessons to inform future development of technology at scale
o Evaluation of trial processes (including safety management plans) and lessons to inform future trials
o Reporting and investigation of safety incidents, adverse or otherwise notable events
o Trial methodology requirements
o Knowledge sharing requirements
o Trial data requirements, including capture, storage, access and privacy
• Use worked examples to test the draft guidelines / tool(s) ahead of producing the final outputs
DELIVERABLES:
This project will produce the following deliverables:
1. Project plan (Phase 1)
2. Research Report of a discussion paper and recommendations (Phase 2)
3. Draft guidelines / tool(s) (Phase 3)
4. Worked examples using the draft guidelines / tool(s) (Phase 4)
5. Internal working paper for changes following the worked examples (Phase 4)
6. Final guidelines / tool(s) (Phase 5)
7. Webinar (Phase 5)
Also included as part of this tender are the following documents:
• Instructions for Authors of Austroads Publications which sets out the writing and formatting standards for research, technical and internal reports.
• Master Services Agreement outlining our Terms and Conditions. Please note that our Terms and Conditions are not negotiable.
All submissions are to be submitted as a PDF at a maximum size of 10MB.
All submissions are to include a completed Tender Proposal Coversheet.
The naming convention for submissions is: [your Company name] – [Project No.] – [any internal reference numbers].
All submissions are to include a statement as to how the respondent proposes to undertake the work, and keep to the agreed deadlines, given the current and proposed requirements and restrictions due to COVID-19.
