Purpose:

The purpose of the project is to establish a business case for engineered laminated timber bridge construction and a roadmap for implementation.

Scope:

The project will identify the key design, treatment, construction and maintenance requirements for engineered timber to achieve the required structural performance and durability. An assessment of potential environmental and economic benefits with cost comparisons to concrete and steel bridges will be conducted.

The project will identify the technical standards, guidance and industry inputs required to successfully drive the use of engineered timber bridges in appropriate situations.

This project will produce the following final deliverables:
• Technical report
• Internal report that establishes the business case for engineered timber and a road map for the further development of standards and guides etc required for implementation.
• Webinar
• Project data with populated metadata spreadsheet.

Also included as part of this tender are the following documents:
• Writing & Format Requirements for Austroads Publications which sets out the writing and formatting standards for research, technical and internal reports.
• Master Services Agreement outlining our Terms and Conditions. Please note that our Terms and Conditions are not negotiable.
