Purpose:

The project will develop best practice strategies and supporting materials for road agencies to communicate the value of the road freight task to local road managers and their communities.

Deliverables:

• A research report capturing best practice and (a minimum of) 3 practical case studies
• Guidelines that will propose a methodology to develop and maintain a united message between public agencies and industry in their effort to communicate the value of freight to local road managers and their communities, and provide a set of recommendations and communications tools for future use by road managers, including infographics and other supporting material as appropriate.

All recommendations provided by the selected Consultant as part of the project are required to be accompanied at a minimum by a high-level qualitative assessment of costs and efforts that would be incurred by the Austroads members for their implementation. Jurisdictions impact will be discussed and assessed collaboratively throughout the project between the Project manager, the Project Working Group and the selected Consultant.

All data / datasets captured and /or generated as part of the project form part of the project outputs that the selected Consultant is responsible to deliver to Austroads. Direction regarding the expected output format of the data / datasets will be sought by the Consultant during the project through the Austroads Project Manager.

- Instructions for Authors of Austroads Publications which sets out the writing and formatting standards for research, technical and internal reports.
