Purpose & Objectives:
The purpose of this project is to update the existing Austroads Guide to Road Safety Part 6: Road Safety Auditing (2009). A workshop was held in May with representatives of Austroads Roads and Roadsides Theme Group and Road Design Task Force to discuss the scope which should be contained in a revised Guide. A summary of the discussions are attached to this tender for consideration.
The current project seeks to update the existing Guide to Road Safety Part 6: Road Safety Audit (2009) to meet expectations and requirements of road authorities across Australia and New Zealand. This includes addressing the key discussion points raised in the workshop on 30 May 2017.
The key objective of this project is to provide guidance to Project Managers on road safety auditing. The objective is to provide clear guidance on the principles and processes for Project Managers, thereby influencing the actions of Road Safety Auditors. Separate work will be undertaken with the aim to improve the skills and capabilities of Road Safety Auditors across Australia and New Zealand.
The desired outcomes of this project are enhanced consistency, quality and application of road safety auditing within each jurisdiction to reduce serious casualties in alignment with the Safe System approach.
This project is expected to produce the following deliverables:
• Consultation and a workshop held with road safety audit representatives from each jurisdiction to reach agreement on the key areas of difference among jurisdictions in the draft Guide.
• A completed updated Guide to Road Safety Part 6 Road Safety Audit that provides guidance to project managers.
• A brief report summarising the key updates to the 2009 Guide resulting from this project.
Also included is a copy of our Consultancy Agreement outlining our Terms and Conditions. Please note our terms and conditions are not negotiable.
