The Project and Purpose:
This new project is an opportunity to improve the experience of Austroads’ customers, better explain the
benefits and outcomes of our work, and find new opportunities to engage with our stakeholders through
digital technology.
The Austroads corporate website (austroads.com.au) and publications portal
(onlinepublications.austroads.com.au) are currently two separate systems (Joomla and iPalm respectively).
This redevelopment is also an opportunity to consolidate into a single content management system,
improving the user experience and enabling greater flexibility into the future.
This redevelopment will be undertaken by a soon to be appointed IT Contractor. In addition to the IT
Contractor, Austroads is seeking the services of a Sydney based IT consultant to provide advice on a
complex and multilayered website project that will better communicate Austroads research activities and
outcomes, and deliver more than 100 technical publications as an easy navigable html resource. The IT
Consultant will report to the project manager and Austroads communications manager.
Scope
• Provide technical consultation over the phone, in person or at meetings.
• Review documents (e.g. briefs, tender documents, technical specifications, reports, etc. ) and
provide technical advice on the suitability of proposed solutions and potential alternatives.
• Review documents (e.g. briefs, tender documents, technical specifications, reports, etc.) and identify
potential technical issues, logistical issues and/or conflicts.
• Provide written reports on technical items or queries when requested by Austroads.
