1. Purpose:
The purpose of this Expression of Interest (EoI) Invitation is to invite qualified organisations or consortia to formally express an interest in submitting research proposals relating to Stream 4 of the Austroads funded Suicide in Road Transport (SiRT) project.
The SiRT project seeks to investigate and understand the scope of suicides in road transport, to establish mechanisms to appropriately monitor over time and seek to reduce its impact. Due to the limited knowledge relating to this topic, the goal is to help stimulate some new research into this area.
2. Themes:
The purpose of Stream 4 is to stimulate research relating to suicide in road transport by inviting short
proposals from relevant research centres, organisations and experts. The SiRT project invites proposals
relating to two key research themes, which are:
(a) Investigate the impact of suicide by road transport on third parties (families, emergency services,
colleagues and organisations) and, if possible, provide recommendations to help improve their
resilience following an event; and
(b) Identifying and improve understanding of the barriers that impact upon effective interventions with
regards to suicide in road transport.
3. Deliverables:
For each theme there are the following deliverables:
(a) Draft report
(b) Present findings at Combined Stream Workshop
(c) Finalise report.

Also included as part of this tender are the following documents:
o Instructions for Authors of Austroads Publications which sets out the writing and formatting standards for research, technical and internal reports.
o Master Services Agreement outlining our Terms and Conditions. Please note that our Terms and Conditions are not negotiable.
All submissions are to be submitted as a PDF at a maximum size of 10MB.
