Purpose
The purpose of Austroads Project SAG6371 is to help chart a path to Zero pedestrian serious trauma by establishing a greater level of understanding and insights into pedestrian safety risk, trauma, and cost-effective countermeasures.
Addressing mid-term road safety targets, Project SAG6371 will inform road safety managers of practical and implementable interventions and policy thinking across the Safe System.
Eliminating pedestrian trauma will require coordination across all levels of government and in partnership with the community.
Deliverables
Stream 1 will deliver the following:
Discovery Phase:
• A public-facing Research Report to summarise
- The project methodology
- The literature analysis and stakeholder engagement findings
- Pedestrian activity and safety data and insights needs
- Pedestrian activity and safety data and insights improvement guidance and recommendations including recommendations related to data collection and sharing as well as a long-term data strategy to ensure ongoing national pedestrian data sustainability
• An Internal Technical Report to provide information on
- magnitude and costs of pedestrian trauma to better inform business cases for pedestrian safety interventions
- information on data commissioning, recommended collection methods and the use of pedestrian activity and safety data
Upon completion of the project, content from the Internal Technical Report is envisaged to be further developed in consultation with appropriate experts, and considered for inclusion in Australian Transport Assessment and Planning (ATAP) Guidelines.
Intervention Collection:
• A public-facing Research Report to collate and summarise results into an effective interventions document, including highlighting cost-effective interventions, and optimal contexts for implementation including all the levels of government across Australia and New Zealand.
Also included as part of this tender are the following documents:
• Writing & Format Requirements for Austroads Publications which sets out the writing and formatting standards for research, technical and internal reports.
• Master Services Agreement outlining our Terms and Conditions. Please note that our Terms and Conditions are not negotiable.
All submissions are to be submitted as a PDF at a maximum size of 10MB.
All submissions are to include a completed Tender Proposal Coversheet.
