PURPOSE:
The purpose of this request for Expressions of Interest (EOI) is to identify appropriately qualified and motivated practitioners and experts to contribute to the Austroads project Best Practice Guidance in Road Safety Management (SAG6507).
The Best Practice Guidance in Road Safety Management project’s purpose is to develop guidance for senior government executives, senior road safety leaders, road safety delivery partners and elected officials on effective road safety management to support and enable a path to zero road trauma.
The guidance will provide actionable initiatives, based on evidence led examples of road safety management practices in leading road safety jurisdictions.
The project will be undertaken in two stages, with a series of deliverables and objectives. The first phase will include an integrated project team that will deliver three discreet, yet complimentary outputs and the second phase will be to bring together outputs and learnings from phase one to update the Guide to Road Safety Part 7. The second phase is out of scope for this EOI.
The project objectives are to;
1. Improve the understanding of how road safety management and governance supports road safety action.
2. Increase the capacity and capability of road safety practitioners, senior government executives at all levels of government, road safety delivery partners and elected officials in best practice road safety management.
3. Develop best practice road safety management guidance and actionable high-impact initiatives to support effective road safety management.
4. Define responsibility and accountability for all levels of government, key delivery partners, industry, advocates and the community in the context of road safety management and best practice governance.
5. Develop a framework for how to better engage businesses and industry in improving road safety outcomes through their value chains.
Suppliers are invited to submit an EOI for one or more of the three workstream tasks of the first phase of the project.
The areas of expertise we are looking will be specific to each work package.
