We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for on-ground delivery providers to deliver project activities that align with the vision for the Reef Islands Initiative (RII) Whitsundays Project. Individual projects will be integrated and form the body of work that will achieve the vision of RII Whitsundays project. This project aims to position the Whitsundays as a recognised hub for inshore fringing reef stewardship, piloting restoration intervention techniques and trialling and testing a suite of activities for ridge to reef restoration. This suite of restoration activities will be a primary tool to catalyse a movement for restoration and stewardship, with a focus on education and edu-tourism opportunities. To complement this, and recognising that climate change is the biggest threat to the reef, we aim to catalyse the vision towards a carbon neutral Whitsundays, by demonstrating the impact of reducing carbon emissions and improving sustainability through project activities.
