PACIFIC RESILIENCE PARTNERSHIP (PRP) CONFERENCE COORDINATOR/FACILITATOR

BACKGROUND

The Pacific Resilience Partnership through the Pacific Islands Forum is seeking submissions from reputable and suitably qualified/experienced persons for the purpose of planning, managing and coordinating the inaugural Pacific Resilience Meeting, "Youth Futures in a Resilient Pacific", from 30th April - 2nd May, 2019 at the University of South Pacific, Suva, Fiji.

SCOPE OF WORK

The coordinator will be based at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and will report to the Pacific Resilience Meeting (PRM) Organising Committee, for all aspects of the work, including the production of the required outputs.
Key tasks include:

• Develop a Preparation Plan outlining key steps, responsible person/entity and timeline; this to include management meetings with the organizing committee, communication team when required to review progress
• Ensure that the PRP Taskforce and constituencies are kept abreast of meeting preparation plans
• Monitor expenditure of the budget for review by the Organising Committee
• Other actions as maybe required on the direction of the Organising Committee or Support Unit.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

o Degree in social sciences, development, environment studies or equivalent
o Demonstrated experience in organizing and coordinating regional events
o Demonstrated experience in drafting and writing reports
o Demonstrated experience in working in the Pacific region
o Understanding of the Pacific region especially in areas associated with Resilience
o Good grasp of the Resilience regional policy architecture
o Experience working with Pacific stakeholders around climate change and disaster risk management
o Understanding of the global architecture in climate change and disaster risk management
o An experience working with youth is an asset

Late or incomplete tenders will not be considered.
