RECRUITMENT OF A REGIONAL QUALITY INFRASTRUCTURE COORDINATOR (CONSULTANT)

The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) is inviting tenders from interested individuals to provide technical assistance on implementation of the Pacific Quality Infrastructure Initiative (PQII).

The position of a Regional Quality Infrastructure (QI) Coordinator (Consultant) is a consultancy-based position within PIFS. The Coordinator will be working in the Trade Development & Integration (TDI) Key Result Area of the Secretariat. The objective of this consultancy is to assist PIFS in carrying out the its responsibilities with regard to PQII, including coordinating the initiative, managing some of the initiative’s components, and mobilising resources.

The requirements for the Coordinator role are:

Qualifications and skills

• Post-graduate qualifications in Natural or Social Sciences; or equivalent working experience in the field in the areas covered by this project
• Excellent written communication skills in English

General professional experience

• Ten (10) years of experience with international development cooperation projects

Specific professional experience

• Eight (8) years of professional experience with coordination of technical assistance projects in the area of QI
• At least two (2) years of experience with coordination of international relations in the area of QI
• Familiarity with QI issues in the Pacific region, and with PQII, would be a distinct advantage
• First-hand knowledge of key stakeholders and working procures of donor partners and partner agencies such as the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF), the European Union (EU), the German Metrology Institute, and Australasian Quality Infrastructure institutions would be an advantage.

Expression of interest for the technical assistance should include a brief outline of the proposed activities, the proposed fee and CV outlining key qualifications and relevant work experience that respond to the above requirements.

INFORMATION

• Are financially solvent and able to conduct business operations in a professional and successful manner;
• Are not involved in any court proceedings which may affect their ability to conduct business or deliver the services tendered; and
• Do not appear on the World Bank’s listing of ineligible firms.
