Internal Audit Services.
The Gippsland Water Board of Directors believes that internal audit is an important part of the governance framework and has decided that the organisation should have an internal audit function with the following key objectives:
• To provide independent and objective assurance and assessment to the Committee on the state of internal controls in the business and provide management with practical recommendations for improvement to the controls; and
• To assist management in the effective discharge of their responsibilities to the Board regarding the maintenance of an effective internal control framework by providing independent appraisals of the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems.
