Contract GWS397 - HIGH VOLTAGE OPERATOR SERVICES
Gippsland Water requires the services of trained and authorized high voltage operators (up to 22kV), primarily to support fault response and planned switching at the Gippsland Water Factory. Support at other sites may also be required and will be negotiated with the successful Contractor. The services required are:
> Planned switching for 415V and 22kV equipment during business hours. Works will be planned generally with 2 days notice provided. The Contractor will be required to prepare and review switching instructions for planned works.
> Fault response for 415V and 22kV equipment during and after business hours on an on-call basis. Response time to attend faults is 30 minutes or less from initial call. The Contractor will provide as a minimum one rostered operator available at all times (both during and after hours). It is preferred that the roster will change over on Friday of each week.
> The Contractor will be responsible for ensuring all operators are appropriately trained in accordance with the Code of Practice on Electrical Safety for Work on or near High Voltage Electrical Apparatus. GW will provide site specific training for operators nominated by the Contractor.
> The Contractor will be required to provide a minimum of 4 trained personnel to provide the service.
> All services will be on an as-required basis - permanent on-site personnel are not required.
