Creswick community has identified a need to implement youth lead strategies to engage and assist youth with a community integration.
Hepburn Shire has limited specific youth focused activities however a wide range of all ages activities. The Council funds a youth lead interest-based activity through out the year both regionally and based in Creswick including Freeza and Skate competitions. The Creswick Neighbourhood house runs Kids craft club, Tank Team arts program, and a range of Creative, health and fitness, environment, food and garden-based community groups/courses for all ages. There is a scout’s group, Motorcycle club and light horse brigade that have all been on hold during Coved 19 pandemic.
This project will consist of engaging a consultant to prepare a business case that will inform on the best model for a collaborative youth activation project. This will be driven by Council and key stakeholders and used as a trial project in Creswick in early 2021 with the possibility to be used to roll out in other towns within the Hepburn region in the future pending funding.
The project will involve facilitating a minimum of 4 meetings engaging external stakeholders, government representatives and well as internal Council officers. The business case will include history, current regional youth engagement data, agreed outcomes, a recommend model/s of implementation, timelines, Youth consultation and engagement plan, communication/ marketing plan for public and stakeholders, estimated budget for required funding, risk analysis and evaluation metrics to be used throughout the project. This business case may be used for future funding applications.
