Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia's $9 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $100 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Developing a database of bio-markers for compost quality control to maximise mushroom production yield (MU17006).
The objectives of the services being sought are to help Hort Innovation:
• Conduct a global scan for novel and innovative options for mushroom compost quality control for maximised yield, with a focus on microbial biomarkers
• Better understand the optimum concentration of microbes in Australian mushroom Industry composting
• Develop an Australian mushroom industry database of microbial profiles along the composting timeline to enable a correlation between yield/productivity verses microbial load
• Equip Australian mushroom growers to utilise the Industry microbial load database to improve yield.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
