Request for Proposal: Afourer mandarin best practice canopy management
Horticulture Innovation Australia (Hort Innovation) is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $13.2 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $110 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Afourer mandarin best practice canopy management (CT19002).
The objectives of the services being sought are to assist Hort Innovation:
• Broadly consult with the citrus Industry and recognised leaders in Afourer management to develop a suite of best practice pruning techniques likely to address fruit quality and yield decline in Afourer Mandarin as trees mature (post 7 years).
• Test proposed best practice pruning techniques, report on and demonstrate outcomes to industry.
• Investigate other management techniques that will contribute to the goal of fruit quality and yield consistency retention as Afourer mandarin trees mature, inclusive of irrigation scheduling, nutrition and planting density.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
