Request for Proposal: Better management of irregular bearing under Australian conditions (AV21001)
Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $15.1 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $120 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Better management of irregular bearing under Australian conditions (AV21001).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
• Develop practical crop management for irregular bearing to address fruit set and fruit abscission that maximizes yield and minimizes irregular bearing.
• Deliver both mechanistic and applied (grower actionable) knowledge using an integrated systems approach inclusive of the following areas:
o Tree and organ carbohydrate status
o Hormonal and genetic regulation
o Sustainable crop load management
o Crop pollination/fertilization
• Build avocado industry capacity to address crop physiology challenges through international linkage and research capability development.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
