Request for Proposal: Evaluating single variety block plantings for Australian almond growers (AL22000)
Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $15.1 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $120 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Evaluating single variety block plantings for Australian almond growers (AL22000).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
• Establish an area with selected self-compatible varieties at Horizon 2 planting density, including Carina and Independence.
• Carry out economic benchmarking of single variety blocks against traditional planting blocks at Horizon 2 across key production and orchard design considerations.
• Undertake assessments across a range of parameters and production traits including nut set, hive stocking rates, nutrient and water requirements, and orchard uniformity.
• Develop grower resources to extend new knowledge.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
