Request for Proposal: Managing mangoes for future climates (MG22000)
Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned research and development corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $15.1 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $120 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and capable delivery partner for the project: Managing mangoes for future climates (MG22000).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
• Understand temperature requirements for flower induction in mango across a range of cultivars.
• Integrate temperature requirements for flower induction for the different cultivars with current climate models and emission scenarios. This will determine impacts on frequency of inductive conditions in current and potential mango production regions.
• Characterise the within orchard micro-climate impacts on mango flowering.
• Test strategies to manage flowing in variable climate conditions.
• Increase research capability with experience in mangoes.
