Request for Proposal: Understanding cross-protection of viral diseases in horticulture crops – a case study of citrus tristeza virus (BY22002)
Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned research and development corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $15.1 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $120 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and capable delivery partner for the project: Understanding cross-protection of viral diseases in horticulture crops – a case study of citrus tristeza virus (BY22002).
The objectives of the services being sought are:
· Developing pipelines for viral disease cross-protection in horticulture using citrus tristeza virus (CTV) as a case study.
· Improving understanding of the viral disease diversity of CTV in Australia.
· Developing methods to identify and diagnose severe strains of CTV.
Respondents are expected to source and provide co-funding to support their proposal. Only cash co-funding can be leveraged. In-kind support, while acknowledged, cannot be leveraged.
If co-funding is not available, you are encouraged to speak with Hort Innovation prior to responding to this RFP to discuss potential collaborative approaches to seeking third party co-investment. It is important to note that the program selection criteria used to short-list respondents includes the availability of co-funding or the ability to source co-funding for the proposed program. If co-funding is not available, this will affect the ranking of the proposal during the evaluation process.
