Request for Proposal: Cataloguing horticultural germplasms across Australia (AS22004)
Horticulture Innovation Australia (Hort Innovation) is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $14.4 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $110 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Cataloguing horticultural germplasms across Australia (AS22004).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
•To explore the feasibility of establishing a coordinated and centralised web-based platform to collate horticulture germplasm collection information, including associated data for the germplasm collections to allow greater utility of the collections across horticulture.
•To conduct a preliminary collation of readily available germplasm information in horticultural industries for inclusion in a web-based platform.
•To conduct a high-level benefit cost analysis of the value of the preliminary horticultural germplasm collections in Australia as relevant to climate change and biosecurity preparedness.
•To provide recommendations on the maintenance, or otherwise, of these preliminary horticultural germplasm collections (or subsets of the collections), into the future to support climate change and biosecurity preparedness.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
The RFP may be downloaded from www.tenders.net (you will need to be a member of tenders.net to access this information).
