Request for Proposal: Next-generation weed management (BY23002)
Horticulture Innovation Australia (Hort Innovation) is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $16.3 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $120 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Next-generation weed management (BY23002).
Hort Innovation is seeking interest from individuals and organisations to co-fund the development of novel weed management technologies to control problematic weeds in horticulture crops. Successful applications should explicitly state the applicability of the proposed technology to complement current weed management practices and demonstrate its use in commercial horticulture settings. Customisability to adapt to different weed and crop species should also be demonstrated. Research undertaken as part of this work is expected to demonstrate return on investment and effective weed management in various commercial horticulture settings. The ideal team for this research would employ a multi-disciplinary research approach with skills in relevant physical, social, and technological sciences. Collaboration with a well-known commercial provider is highly encouraged. The overall objective of this research is to support the Australian horticulture industry to develop and use integrated weed management systems that can respond to a range of current, establishing, and future weed challenges in an increasingly chemically limited future.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
The RFP may be downloaded from www.tenders.net (you will need to be a member of tenders.net to access this information).
The closing date for responses is September 13 2024 3:00 PM (AEST).
