Request for Proposal: Study of airfreight capacity for Australian horticulture exports to Asia and the Middle East
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Study of airfreight capacity for Australian horticulture exports to Asia and the Middle East (AM16012).
Airfreight of agriculture and food is often a means of securing a premium for the product in export markets due to additional freshness and timeliness.
This project aims to give a picture of the national airfreight capacity in Australia for horticulture exports to Asia and the Middle East. This picture will be informed by:
• Desktop research, including looking at current airfreight capacity, barriers and opportunities for growth of airfreight, and
• Interviews with airlines, freight forwarders, consolidators, airports, supply chain entities and major horticultural exporters.
This project is envisaged to inform the discussion and support further engagement on protocols, airfreight utilisation, industry development and investment. The output will be a report identifying key airfreight capacity (not just existing trade) enabling better planning and utilisation by horticulture growers and exporters. It will also support government negotiations, state government planning and airfreight providers in identifying possible airfreight users.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties. The RFP may be downloaded from www.tenders.net (you will need to be a member of tenders.net to access this information).
The closing date for responses is 5.00pm (AEDT), Friday, September 29, 2017
