Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $9 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $100 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Technology transfer pistachio growers utilising regional grower tech groups and events (PS17002).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
• Facilitate industry innovation and the adoption of R&D by Australian pistachio businesses
• Encourage mechanisms for information sharing and collaboration amongst Australian pistachio industry members
• Garner industry R&D concepts for submission to the Hort Innovation investment pipeline.
The successful delivery partner will be required to:
• Maintain, and where possible, expand the pistachio 'tech groups' within the regional areas of the Riverland, Sunraysia and Swan Hill
• Conduct at least four field days/farm walks annually, at relevant times of the production cycle, to further improve the interaction between industry members of these regional ‘tech groups’
• Utilise Australian and/or international pistachio experts/technicians at field days/farm walks to give presentations on topical industry R&D matters
• Compilation of technical information from overseas and Australia and presentation of the material in a range of formats that can be utilised by pistachio growers.
• Garner industry R&D concepts for submission to the Hort Innovation investment pipeline.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
