Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $9 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $100 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: National persimmon varietal evaluation program (PR17000).
The objectives of the services being sought are:
• Negotiate access to new persimmon varieties and rootstocks from overseas partners with potential for the Australian industry
• Quantify the performance of new varieties and rootstocks including Rojo Brilliante, and evaluate suitability for the Australian industry
• Carry out a true to type verification of existing Rojo Brilliante in Australia
• Develop a new standard clonal propagation technique for persimmon rootstocks to improve tree uniformity and performance such as controlled vigour and size.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
