Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $9 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $100 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Integrated Pest Management of phytophagous mites on turfgrass (TU17003).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
• Determine the life cycles of known key phytophagous mites in the Eriophyid, Tarsonemid and Tetranychid families that damage warm season turf grasses
• Develop an Integrated Pest Management strategy for the control of the mites that is both effective and sustainable
• Extend the strategy to growers in order to support better managemnt of mites across the industry.
The project will lead to a more detailed understanding of the main mite pest species on warm season turfgrasses and provide effective and adoptable recommendations for the management of these pests.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
