Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $9 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $100 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
We are seeking a suitably experienced and qualified service provider/s to undertake the project ‘Building Best Practice Management capacity for the Australian mango industry (MG17000)’.
The objectives of the services are to help Hort Innovation:
• Facilitate mango industry adoption of Best Practice Management (BPM)
• Increase the reach of the mango industry R&D program
• Garner industry R&D concepts for submission to Hort Innovation’s investment pipeline.
The intended outcomes include:
• Implementation of a suite of extension activities throughout key production regions that keep growers and supply chain participants informed of R&D outcomes and BPM recommendations
• Increasing levels of industry participation at extension activities, and in particular growers from non-English speaking backgrounds
• Collation of up-to-date and accurate industry data; general industry statistics (including crop forecasts, national and regional production, export data and general industry statistics)
• Collection of industry practice data that demonstrates an increase in the adoption of BPM over the three-year project period
• New R&D and extension issues identified and concepts submitted to Hort Innovation’s investment pipeline
• Coordination and leadership provided on export development matters
• Representation and industry preparedness provided for biosecurity matters.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document which provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties. The closing date for responses is 5.00pm (AEDT), Friday, February 23, 2018.
