Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $9 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $100 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Taste Australia retail program (R&D) (AM17004).
The key objectives of this program are to:
• Build a comprehensive and integrated profile of Australian horticultural products in strategic key export markets in Asia
• Educating markets on the R&D, technology and innovation which underpins the quality, nutrition and safety of Australian produce
• Educating buyers, retailers and key trade stakeholders so they gain a better understanding and trust of Australian horticulture industries and products
• Position Australian horticulture as a premium product in-market
• Increase market understanding through targeted data collection and analysis of customer trends, channel requirements and competitor positioning to identify market opportunities (ultimately supporting and increasing the effectiveness of the partner program).
The overarching Taste Australia retail program has two components:
• Marketing: Focused on directly influencing purchasing behaviour via promotional activity to consumers such as in-store sampling to consumers, social media campaigns, etc
• R&D: Focused on the dissemination and extension of R&D outputs to educate and support Australia’s reputation for quality, nutrition and safety throughout the supply chain, for example, training retailers and importers in methods of presentation, storage and handling of Australian produce (away from consumers).
This RFP covers the R&D component of the program.
There is a separate RFP which covers the marketing component, Taste Australia retail program (marketing) (AM17005) and is out for tender concurrently.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties. The RFP may be downloaded from www.tenders.net (you will need to be a member of tenders.net to access this information).
The closing date for responses is 5.00pm (AEDT), Monday March 5, 2018
