Tender Details
SPC RRRT is producing three (3) multi-media products (2 x animations and/or videos; and 1 x booklet) on child protection and corporal punishment and positive behaviour management for use in schools in Tuvalu as part of RRRT’s support to the Tuvalu Department of Education’s integration of social citizenship and human rights education in schools. The first resource (5 – 8 minute media product) will guide Tuvaluan teachers and school stakeholders on their obligations to provide a safe environment for children in schools and in the community in accordance with Tuvalu child protection laws and policies. The second and third resource (media product and simple handbook) will empower school stakeholders to abandon corporal punishment and effectively use positive behaviour management approaches. These resources will outline the Tuvaluan laws with regard corporal punishment, the harmful impacts on corporal punishment on children and alternative positive disciplining methods. The resource should be both persuasive, making an argument for abandoning corporal punishment and empowering, providing realistic, practical positive behaviour management techniques. The media products should be between 5 and 10 minutes, and be tailored to a target audience comprising Tuvaluan teachers, school management, parents and community leaders. The Teachers Handbook on positive behaviour management should be 12 pages (A5 size) and include text and illustrations or photos.
