Tender Details
Reforest Fiji (the Project) supports the Accompanying Measures for Sugar Protocol (AMSP) which works to address the Fiji Government's "National Adaptation Strategy for the Fiji Sugar Industry". Reforest Fiji is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the Pacific Community (SPC) in partnership with the people of Fiji and the agencies working on their behalf. Funding is EURO 9 million with a start date of 3 June 2014 and an end date of 31 December 2018.
The original specific objective of the project was: "To improve the watershed management in the three specific sectors of the sugar cane belt of Viti Levu Island and to generate community income through reforestation". In 2015 the project area was subsequently expanded via an approved Addendum to capture all sectors of the sugar cane belt of Viti Levu, but with Drasa, Malolo and Koronubu sectors remaining as priority focus areas for support.
The project has the following Key Result Areas:
Result 1: On-going soil erosion on the sloping foothills within the three selected sugarcane sectors are reversed;
Result 2: Income to cane growers and native communities generated through the establishment and ownership of forest plantations; and
Result 3: Improved road access, watershed, drainage and associated rural infrastructure in sugarcane areas.

The Reforest Fiji Project is seeking the services of a Reforest Fiji Project Coordinator to manage the implementation of the remaining project activities and fulfil the reporting requirements of the project.
