SPC wishes to invite eligible Individual Consultants to express their interest in providing their services for Geospatial Developer.
PREP seeks the services of an advanced geospatial python developer to work on innovative disaster resilience initiative in the Pacific Island Countries (PICs). PREP seeks the services of an advanced geospatial python developer to work on innovative disaster resilience initiative in the Pacific Island Countries (PICs). Main tasks to focus on progressing the development of an open source disaster risk assessment application to be used by SPC and national agencies.
The Consultant will be responsible for:
- Developing and promoting open source GIS solutions, including applications for impact assessment, field data collection, remote sensing analysis, and customized solutions for disaster management needs, such as integration with early warning systems. Providing training and mentoring to SPC staff, technical experts from PICs.
- Improving data management deployments in the Pacific such as GeoNode instances like the Pacific Risk Information System.
- Developing relevant documentation, training materials, deployment guidelines, and support mechanisms for the above.
- Embrace and promote an open source first policy
