The PS4L implementation commenced with a Pacific Seed Forum held from 18 - 22 June in Nadi, Fiji where 18 PICTs participated in the priority setting for the PS4L. Key recommendations from the Forum include, among others:
1. Support development of communication products for the countries to use 'immediately post-workshop' to raise awareness on the workshop, seed systems and PGR, which can be adapted for use by countries to use as press release, on a social media page etc.
2. Support scoping studies for seed systems to establish baselines, partnerships mechanisms, information and documentation needs
3. Development and finalization of the roadmap for the PS4L initiative by consolidating the outcomes of the week into the Roadmap for follow up consultation with members.
4. Finalize the Governance Structure of PAPGREN to champion seed systems in the region and support structured way of seed development in the region
5. Establishment of an interim steering committee [include the 3 PS4L project countries - Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Cook Islands, French Polynesia and FSM] to take forward the forum recommendations.
