The latest information on adolescent risk behaviour was from the Youth Risk Behaviour Surveillance Survey (YRBSS) conducted in 2011 and not all schools were included in that survey. The Ministries of Health and Education are seeking to better understand the prevalence of NCD risk factors among adolescents in the Marshall Islands by conducting a behavioural risk factor survey among adolescents in all high schools in RMI. The information gained from this survey will be used to inform the development of programs and strategies for NCD prevention in the Marshall Islands.
Standardised survey instruments and procedures to be used must be adapted for the RMI context to collect and analyse data on standard core indicators such as current use of tobacco products, diet as well as anthropometric measurements.
C. Scope of Work
The scope of work will include the following:
• Adapt and pre-test survey instruments and procedures in one high school
• Schedule survey dates with schools
• Conduct the survey in all high schools in RMI between March and June 2020.
• Complete, clean and analyse survey data
• Draft and complete survey report for dissemination
• Disseminate final survey report
