Under the ECIKS project, SPC is working in partnership with National Meteorological Services (NMS) in
Tuvalu, Cook Island and Niue towards strengthening their ocean wave monitoring services with the
acquisition of 10 (ten) wave buoys and moorings (top section). The wave buoys will enable NMSs to
access real-time wave information to ascertain ocean prediction and warning services as well as
provide their ocean stakeholders with real-time wave products to support a wide range of ocean and
coastal activity planning.
